won’t be long now

Not much longer before Scott Pilgrim vs. the World opens.  I kind of wish I had a DeLorean handy and gun it to 88 mph so I wouldn’t have to wait anymore.

Anyway, here’s an excellent blog post from the LA Times’ Todd Martens where he wonders if underneath the 8-bit street-fighting indie-rock surface, Scott Pilgrim is the year’s most honest romance? Just from having read the entire series, I’d have to say yes.

As further testament to the amazing job Edgar Wright and Co. did at bringing the book to life, here’s a sneak peak at The Clash at Demonhead in the flesh.

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World – alternate trailer

Back in June, I posted an entry about my excitement for the upcoming Scott Pilgrim vs. the World movie.  Its release is almost here and the wait is getting to be unbearable.  I’ve read and re-read the entire series a handful of times in anticipation of it.  If I hadn’t pored over the comics so much, I don’t think I would appreciate theMrblonde2010’s trailer as much as I do.  He replaced the movie footage in the trailer with the corresponding panels from the books.  Even if you haven’t read the Scott Pilgrim series and just compared the trailer to the artwork, it’s easy to see how faithful director Edgar Wright was to the source material.  I can’t wait to see the finished product.
